Hot Yoga
Our space is right off Main Street and Tilson in downtown Rockland, with exposed brick walls, vintage marble floors, a water bottle filling station, and changing facilities with showers. Earth Essentials, our small boutique, stocks the most current quality brands for all your yoga needs, and our juice bar Earth Candy will refuel you after practice with clean juices and bowls.
Conditions: Our studio is heated to a consistent 105° F (41° C) and 40% humidity: prepare to sweat!
What To Bring: A large towel, a yoga mat, and a water bottle. The studio also sells mats and water, and mats and towels are available to rent ($2 each).
What To Wear: Whatever you like! Most folks wear light exercise clothes.
Other:
We practice barefoot on mats and kindly ask folks to not wear shoes in the changing rooms or studio.
Arriving: We recommend arriving early enough to give yourself time to sign in and have a few minutes before class begins to stretch, meditate or collect your thoughts. First-time yogis, please arrive 20 minutes early. First time students must fill out a new student enrollment form and waiver at reception
Sustenance: We recommend practicing with a little something in your stomach: banana, a piece of fruit, some coconut water, etc.
Let us know: If you are comfortable doing so, please let your instructor know about any injuries or conditions that might affect your practice, if you are pregnant, or if you are new to yoga.
Hydrate! If you’re not in the habit of drinking water, we recommend drinking plenty for several days prior to your first class. We also recommend cutting down on caffeine and processed foods, as these can affect your body’s ability to tolerate heat.
Phones: Please silence your cell phone before entering the studio, leave smartwatches/devices out of the room.
Punctuality: Late arrivals run the risk of disrupting fellow students during practice. Life happens and we certainly understand being a few minutes late / needing to leave early, though kindly ask that you do your best to arrive on time and stay through the end of class. If you absolutely have to leave a class early, please leave before the final relaxation period (savasana).
26+ 2
Our 26 + 2 (also referred to as Bikram or Baptiste) instructors guide you through the 26 Hatha Yoga postures in sequence. This sequence systematically works every part of the body, to give all the internal organs, veins, ligaments, and muscles everything they need to maintain optimum health and maximum function.
All levels, some classes set to music 🎶
Slow Flow
The focus is centered around matching movement with the breath to redevelop the mind/body connection. Postures flow from one to the next and class often includes one or more pranayama (breathing) practices. If you are new to heated yoga, this practice is a great precursor to vinyasa flow.
All levels, some classes set to music 🎶
Yin Restorative
Yin is a practice that targets the connective tissue surrounding joints. Each class consists of 10-12 postures held for 1-3 minutes fully supported on the floor and with props. Highly therapeutic for both the physical body and the mind, and a wonderful complement to our flow & pilates classes.
All levels, some classes set to music 🎶
Vinyasa Flow
A continuous flow intended to strengthen body and mind, with more emphasis on the physical asana (postures).
All levels though some yoga experience can be helpful, set to music 🎶
Power Vinyasa
A quickly paced, slightly stronger version of vinyasa flow. Power vinyasa is our most physically challenging class and we ask that students have a consistent vinyasa and/or workout practice in order to enjoy a safe, strong power vinyasa experience.
Some experience recommended, set to music 🎶
Pilates HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training)
Pilates is a full body, low impact, high-intensity workout using Pilates principles. With a strong emphasis on core strength, this class moves quickly and is set to loud/fun (we think so, anyway hehe) tunes. It is helpful to have a consistent workout practice and/or good body awareness in order to enjoy a safe, strong Pilates experience.
All levels, set to music 🎶
Classic (Mat) Pilates
Classic Pilates led by an expert level instructor with a myriad of traditional Pilates training. This fairly regimented physical practice is founded on Pilates principles (breath, alignment) while building strength and mobility. A great option for anyone interested in learning more about bodies as a system through classic Pilates.
All levels, set to music 🎶
Asana Strong
Asana strong is a 60-min class aimed to increase strength, practice stabilization (and maybe falling!), and support your joints. Moving through dynamic asana (the sanskrit word for posture/pose) and core & glute movements balanced with counter stretches, we aim to maintain or build muscle to champion our bodies and minds -- they do so much for us! You are strongly encouraged to take this class at your own pace and level as we use our body weight with the option to add blocks or hand-held weights. Modifications are offered to make this class all-levels.
All levels, set to music 🎶
Private And Group Sessions
We understand that everyone is unique and may prefer different environments in which to practice. We offer private one-on-one and group sessions of any kind (yoga, pilates, meditation, etc). This can be an excellent supplement to group classes or can be used on its own as a way to refine postures and improve confidence prior to joining a group class.
To inquire about private sessions, please send us an email at earthrockland@gmail.com. We look forward to hosting you and/or your group!

Lisa “Millie” Millette was first drawn to yoga during college, where she found that her work-study at a local Bikram Yoga studio helped to balance school work and social pressures. Later she continued to work towards harmony on and off the mat by completing her 200 hour training at Central Mass Yoga and Wellness in 2011. Since then, she has taught a variety of classes, among them an inclusive class for adults with developmental differences.
In her free time, Lisa enjoys gardening, leisurely bike rides along the coast, and curling up with her cat to enjoy a good cup of tea and a book.

Ramona has been practicing yoga for the past 20 years. It wasn’t until 6 years ago, when she found myself a stay at home mother with 2 small children, that she realized her passion for teaching yoga. Frustrated that she couldn’t find a yoga class that offered childcare, she created one. Starting in the basement of a church she began teaching classes to her girlfriends while their children played in the next room. From the first class that she taught, she knew that sharing the gifts of yoga was what she was meant to be doing.
In the winter of 2015, she did her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training with one of her favorite teachers, Sherry Sidoti. Sherry taught her that sharing yoga is a lot more than teaching postures, breathing, and meditation. It’s about creating a safe space for people to get curious about the connection between their mind and their body. Also in her yoga training, she learned the importance of having a truly dedicated self-practice. Everyday digging a little bit deeper to find your true self and bringing that true self into all your teachings.
For the last 5 years, she has been offering a variety of yoga teachings in this community and abroad in Denmark
She also loves spending time outside with her family, sailing, hiking, camping, and exploring.
She believes in bringing yoga into everything she does, every day.
Passionate about: Self care, wellness and, of course, Hair.

Kathy was first introduced to yoga when Earth Flow moved into the building that she has her salon Level 10 in. She began her practice with us and quickly became part of our team. In 2019, Kathy completed her Hot Pilates training in Boston, MA and is currently working on her 200 hour Yoga certification including Ayurveda training. Her passion for learning Ayurveda and wellness started at one of our Yoga Retreats at Borestone Mountain in Monson, ME. She's always eager to learn and try new things.
When Kathy is not at the studio, you can find her at Level 10 where she owns and operates her growing salon where she uses Aveda products and DoTerra essential oils. She tries to use as many natural products as possible to maintain a healthy environment for hair care and skin care. She also keeps herself busy spending time with her three children and her granddaughter.
In her Pilates class, expect to work hard and have fun. The class emphasizes on the core, glutes, legs and arms while incorporating cardio. To increase intensity and to change things up she uses mini Pilates balls, weights and bands. This is an intense class for all fitness levels that you will find zooms by. Expect to be energized with her upbeat music, a spunky attitude.
She has found that if she was feeling down or having a bad day, stopping into the studio and just letting it all go made the rest of the day melt away. "There is a powerful feeling in the hot room that will change your life. The instructors and students are the most amazing people you will find."

Devan learned how to lift weights in eighth grade. She has tried many fitness activities but always goes back to weight lifting. A work injury left her unable to lift for two years. After which she hopped right back into it. She found it to be much harder this time around. So she took a yoga class to try to help her body heal. It helped, but it wasn't holding her attention. The yoga instructor mentioned her Tabata/ HITT style pilates class. It was made with weight lifters in mind. It helps build the core and glutes, to perfect lifting form. Devan fell in love with this class and was very excited to instruct her own class. She will push you to do more in her class and preach good form. She will try to make you laugh, and make it fun!

While sailing up and down the east coast she developed a deep love for Yin yoga and breath work and meditation. Colleen strives to create a safe space for everyone to enjoy the benefits of yoga and deepen the connection between the mind and body.
